Fiona’s Blog: It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

The Centre has felt a little bit how we imagine that Santa’s workshop must feel in the run up to Christmas! We have certainly been very busy little elves making decorations and good things to eat for our coffee morning and Christmas party later in the month and shopping for lights for our Christmas tree here in the centre.

On Monday we took a well-earned break and headed off by minibus with the lovely John our very patient driver from Torrance’s to enjoy morning coffee and Christmas shopping at Merryhatton Garden Centre. Thank you John and hope your ears have recovered from our less than tuneful singing!

We had a marvellous time at Merryhatton enjoying coffee, their legendary scones, and other more decadent treats such as cinder toffee brownies …not saying who had those ….!  We then spent a very leisurely hour browsing the wonderful Christmas displays and bagging a bargain on Christmas baubles for our first ever Meeting Centre  Christmas tree.

Just a note here to Holly and Jennifer and all the staff from Merryhatton who looked after all 20 of us so wonderfully well , thank you and Merry Christmas!

All too soon we had to gather our shopping and there was a lot of it….. and head back in the less than seasonal rain to the centre but we still have the coffee morning and party to come so we weren’t too sad!

Take care and please get in touch if you’d like to find out more about what we do.
