Dementia Friendly East Lothian – Musselburgh Meeting Centre

Do you want to work at the heart of an organisation which makes a real difference to people’s lives? Are you warm, friendly, approachable, as well as  experienced and confident in working with people living with dementia and unpaid carers and families. If so, we want to hear from you.

Dementia Friendly East Lothian is a small but growing Community Interest Company working to transform the daily lives of people with lived experience of dementia. Our work is led by people with dementia and unpaid supporters including our Board. These new Support Worker roles are a vital addition to our small team helping us to develop and run the new Musselburgh Meeting Centre for people living with dementia and families/carers. A meeting centre is essentially a social club where people living with dementia and unpaid carers/supporter get together to enjoy friendship, activities, fun and mutual support as well as expert advice from trained staff and support when needed. These are busy and varied roles where no two days will be the same!

There are no essential qualifications for this role – we want to find the best people who meet the essential requirements for the post regardless of formal qualification, and we positively welcome applications from people with dementia and their supporters

These roles are fixed until September 2024, 28 days paid leave plus 6 days public holidays pro rata and 3% pension contribution.

For further information and a job application pack, please contact fiona@dfel.org.uk or telephone 07984 498870.
